Cal Berkeley has a baseball program steeped in history and rich with tradition. But due to budget situations, the program was notified in 2010 that the 2011 season would be its last.
That’s when a group of dedicated alumni, player parents, and many others who cared about the existence of college sports programs all joined together to form the Cal Baseball Foundation. Originally called "Save Cal Baseball", the mission to save the team was reached within a matter of months as pledges and donations flooded in and saved the program for the forseeable future. Like something from a movie and despite all odds, Cal made it to the College World Series in 2011 proving to everyone who may have doubted them that this was a real baseball program that deserved to be around.
We are honored to be able to help this non-profit group in any way possible. One of the first ways was to create a website that functioned smart (taking donations and event sign-ups), looked great and was “baseball smart” with clickable pennants, alumni stats and game calendars.
We’d also like to thank Danielle Dino and WebCasa for the assistance with the online development of this site: webcasa.com
